Equipment

  • 1 baking dish

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Hawaiian Rolls, or 8-10 rolls of any bread
  • 6 Large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • Cinnamon, to taste
  • Nonstick Spray or Butter, for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  • Lightly grease a baking dish with nonstick spray or butter. Tear or cut the Hawaiian rolls or bread into bite-sized pieces and place them evenly in the baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined. Adjust the cinnamon to your taste.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread in the baking dish. Use a spatula or spoon to gently mix so that all the bread pieces are coated with the liquid.
  • Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and refrigerate overnight. This allows the bread to soak up the egg mixture for a custardy texture in the morning.
  • In the morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Keep the foil on the dish and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and check the bake. Continue baking uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and the custard is set.
  • Remove from the oven and serve warm. Top with maple syrup, fresh fruit, or powdered sugar if desired.
