Equipment
- 1 Oven Safe Skillet or Baking Dish
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 28 oz can baked beans, drained slightly if very saucy
- 28 oz box prepared macaroni and cheese, prepared according to package directions
- ½ – 1 cup barbecue sauce, your favorite variety
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- Optional: 4-6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish (if you have an oven safe skillet you can use that for everything).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
- Meanwhile, prepare the boxed macaroni and cheese according to the package directions.
- In the baking dish or oven safe skillet, combine the cooked ground beef, prepared macaroni and cheese, baked beans, barbecue sauce, cooked bacon (if using), and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until everything is evenly combined.
- Spread into an even layer and add the rest of the cheese.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the casserole is hot throughout and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
