Equipment

  • 1 slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 32 oz shredded cheese, I like sharp cheddar, Colby jack and smoked cheddar
  • 1 pound dry macaroni
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 24 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 cup chopped microwavable bacon

Instructions

  • Start by microwaving your desired amount of precooked bacon
  • While that microwaves, begin shredding your cheese. You can use pre-shredded cheese but I find cheese you shred yourself to be best for this recipe
  • Set cheese aside
  • Once your bacon is done, chop it up and set aside
  • To your crockpot, add your dry macaroni, milk, evaporated milk, seasonings, bacon and shredded cheese (reserving one cup for later)
  • Stir and then put the lid on your crockpot and cook for 3 hours on high
  • Once done, stir in remaining shredded cheese and serve

Notes

If you want your Mac and Cheese to be less starchy, cook everything without the macaroni on low for 3 hours instead of high for 3 hours. Once done, cook your macaroni and add it to the sauce along with remaining cup of cheese.
